The Olympiad is run in 2 stages:
• International Qualifiers
• Global Finals

(1) INTERNATIONAL QUALIFIERS

Option 1: Online
• Date: 27 or 28 June 2026
• Duration: 30 to 60 minutes (depending on level)
• Exams are conducted online via an auto-proctored system
• A laptop or tablet with a working webcam and microphone is required
• Ensure a stable internet connection
• The test environment should be quiet and well-lit

Option 2: Paper-Based At School
Available only if the participant’s school is conducting the test.
• Date: 24, 25, 26, 27 or 28 June 2026
• Duration: 30 to 60 minutes (depending on level)
• Take the paper-based test at your school or tuition centre
• Exams will be invigilated by teachers at the school or centre
• The exact test date within 24–28 June will be determined by the school

(2) GLOBAL FINALS

Mode: Face-to-face

Option 1
• Date: 1 to 4 September 2026
• Location: Cluj, Romania

Option 2
• Date: 10 to 13 September 2026
• Location: Bali, Indonesia

Please note that the registration deadline is 19 June 2026. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.

• The WEB Olympiad is open internationally to students aged 6 to 19 years old.

• The WEB Olympiad is structured across six levels, ensuring that each participant competes in a category suited to their age and English proficiency.

• Participants should enroll according to their school grade/year in January 2026.

• Participants have the option to compete in a category higher than their current grade level if they choose, but they cannot compete in a lower category. This flexibility allows ambitious students to challenge themselves at a higher proficiency level.

Category Assignment based on School Grade/Year as of January 2026:
• Primary 1 & 2: WEB One
• Primary 3 & 4: WEB Two
• Primary 5 & 6: WEB Three
• Secondary 1 & 2: WEB Four
• Secondary 3 & 4: WEB Five
• Secondary 5, 6 & college: WEB Six

The CEFR level of each WEB category is stated below:

WEB One: Beginners / A1-A2 Young Learners
WEB Two: Elementary Level / A1-A2
WEB Three: Pre-Intermediate Level / B1
WEB Four: Intermediate Level / B2
WEB Five: Advanced Level / C1
WEB Six: Proficient Level / C2

• Students preparing for the Olympiad can opt for a highly interactive 100-hour course designed to strengthen grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.

• Aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the course builds essential skills through engaging games, animated videos, and interactive activities, helping students gain confidence for the competition.

• The WEB preparation course is optional and can be purchased separately or bundled with a WEB Olympiad registration package.

• Upon successful registration, a placement test will be available for students to take to assess their English proficiency level.

• The competition begins with the International Qualifiers, held online from 27 to 28 June 2026.

• Exams are conducted through an auto-proctored system and focus primarily on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and writing skills.

• The exam format consists of multiple-choice questions, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, rewriting tasks, and short-answer questions.

• The exam duration ranges from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s category level as shown below.

✧ WEB Two: 30 minutes
✧ WEB Three: 45 minutes
✧ WEB Four: 45 minutes
✧ WEB Five: 60 minutes
✧ WEB Six: 60 minutes

• To honor participants for their achievements, dedication, and commitment to mastering English, the International Qualifiers celebrate student success through a tiered recognition system:
✧ Gold Awardees (90% and above)
✧ Silver Awardees (75%–89%)
✧ Bronze Awardees (60%–74%)

• Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awardees will each receive a Certificate of Achievement according to their award category, along with a commemorative medal.

• Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awardees will also be invited to participate in the Global Finals, providing them with an exciting opportunity to compete face-to-face on an international stage.

• All students will receive a participation certificate to acknowledge their efforts.

• The Global Finals will gather top-performing students from the Qualifiers for an in-person competition held in two locations: Romania (1–4 September 2026) and Indonesia (10–13 September 2026).

• The Global Finals offer in-person, paper-based exams that test students' skills in grammar, vocabulary, spelling, reading, writing and speaking.

• Exam formats include multiple-choice questions, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, short-answer questions, and writing tasks.

• The exam duration ranges from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s category level as shown below.
✧ WEB One: 45 minutes
✧ WEB Two: 45 minutes
✧ WEB Three: 60 minutes
✧ WEB Four: 60 minutes
✧ WEB Five: 90 minutes
✧ WEB Six: 90 minutes

• The registration fee for the Global Finals includes double-room accommodation at a luxury resort, with participants sharing a room with either a fellow competitor or a parent.

• This fee covers the final examination, full-board accommodation, a variety of fun activities for students and adults, and entry to the Grand Award Ceremony.

• Upon receiving an invitation to the Global Finals, students will have 10 days to confirm their registration and complete payment to secure their place.

✧ To honor educators, the teachers of winning students receive 50% discount on TESOL Qualifications (Ofqual-regulated).

6. Wall of Fame and Digital Platforms
✧ Top performers, winners, and their schools are featured on the TEFL Wonderland Wall of Fame and other digital platforms.

Refund is allowed if you are unable to attend the competition on the scheduled date due to health reasons, and no alternative date is available. To request a refund, please provide a valid medical certificate.
