The competition has three rounds:
• Malaysia Qualifiers
• Inter-Regional Championship
• Global Finals

(1) ROUND 1: MALAYSIA QUALIFIERS

Participants can choose to take the exam online at home or at their school or tuition centre.

Option 1: Online at Home
• Date: 19, 20 or 21 February 2027
• Timing: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• Duration: 60 minutes (English), 90 minutes (Maths)

How it works: 
• Log in anytime between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on one of the three available dates to take the exam.
• The exam is automatically proctored online.
• You will need a laptop or tablet with a front-facing camera, a stable internet connection, and a quiet room.

Option 2: At School or Tuition Centre 
*This option is only available if your school is hosting the TeenEagle exam.
• Date: 17 to 21 February 2027
• Duration: 60 minutes (English), 90 minutes (Maths)

How it works:
• Take the exam at your school or tuition centre.
• The exam can be paper-based or online.
• Online exams are automatically proctored.
• For paper-based exams, teachers will supervise the exam.
• The school or tuition centre will decide the exam date and format within the available dates.

(2) ROUND 2: INTER-REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
• Date: 27 to 28 March 2027
• Mode: Face-to-Face
• Venue: British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL)

(3) ROUND 3: GLOBAL FINALS

Participants can choose one of the following dates:
• Option 1: 20–27 June 2027
• Option 2: 1–8 August 2027
• Mode: Face-to-Face 
• Venue: University of Surrey, United Kingdom

TeenEagle is open to students aged 7–18.

Participants can register for English, Maths, or both. Each subject has its own levels, based on the student's year of birth.

• TE1: Born in 2014, 2015, 2016 & later
• TE2: Born in 2011, 2012, 2013
• TE3: Born in 2008, 2009, 2010

TeenEagle Maths
• TMC1: Born in 2017 & 2018
• TMC2: Born in 2015 & 2016
• TMC3: Born in 2013 & 2014
• TMC4: Born in 2011 & 2012
• TMC5: Born in 2009 & 2010

Both subjects follow the same three-round competition journey.

(1) ROUND 1: MALAYSIA QUALIFIERS

English
• Format: 80 questions
• Knowledge Quiz: 60 multiple-choice questions
• Spelling: 20 True/False questions
• Scoring: 1 point per question
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Content: Based on the books and films assigned to each level.

Maths
• Format: 30 multiple-choice questions
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Content: Questions increase in difficulty, testing mathematical knowledge, perseverance, and strategic thinking.

(2) ROUND 2: INTER-REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 

English
• Knowledge Quiz: 45 questions | 45 minutes | 30%
• Spelling Bee: 40 questions | 45 minutes | 30%
• Writing Challenge: Essay | 60 minutes | 40%

Maths
• Written Exam: 30 multiple-choice questions | 90 minutes | 50%
• Rapid Fire Challenge: 40 open-ended questions | 40 minutes | 50%

(3) ROUND 3: GLOBAL FINALS 

English
• Knowledge Quiz: 45 questions | 45 minutes
• Spelling Bee: 60 Questions | 60 minutes
• The Writing Challenge: After a 30 minute collaborative discussion, participants write a persuasive or creative essay based on a randomly selected topic.
• Persuasive Speaking (The Debate Challenge): Two debates, both team-style, 3-on-3 with some time to prepare as a team. Scored Individually.

Maths
a) The Written Exam:
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Format: 30 questions
• Focus: Quantitative and computational mathematics

b) The Logical Minds Challenge:
• Consists of 5 challenges
• Focuses on logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and pattern recognition
• Encourages creative and lateral problem-solving

c) The Rapid Fire Round:
• A live, high-energy quick-response challenge
• Focuses on quantitative and computational mathematics
• Conducted under strict time pressure

Top Performer
• Awarded to the top 10% of participants in each level.
• Receive a Certificate of Achievement.
• Eligible for a 20% discount on the Inter-Regional Championship.
• Global Finals discounts will be announced later.

Merit
• Awarded to participants who score 40% or above but do not qualify as Top Performers.
• Receive a Certificate of Achievement.
• Eligible for a 10% discount on the Inter-Regional Championship.

Other Participants
• Receive a Certificate of Participation.

Please note: No medals are awarded in the Malaysia Qualifiers.

(2) ROUND 2: INTER-REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Gold
• Ranking: Top 10% 
• Global Final Discount: 10%

Silver
• Ranking: Next 20%
• Global Final Discount: 5%

Bronze
• Ranking: Next 30%
• Global Final Discount: 2%

Honorable Mentions
• Ranking: Remaining participants who score 40% or above
 
Additional Recognition:
• Every participant receives a medal.
• The top three participants in each level receive a plaque and a tiered certificate.

(3) ROUND 3: GLOBAL FINALS

Medals are awarded based on participants' overall scores compared with others in the same age category.
• Gold Medal: Top 15%
• Silver Medal: The next 25%
• Bronze Medal: The next 30%
• Honorable Mention Medal: Remaining participants who score 40% or above

All participants receive:
• A participation certificate recognising their achievement at the TeenEagle Global Finals.
• A 10% discount on first-year tuition fees at participating UK universities.
• A 10% discount on TeenEagle summer schools.

Additional awards for outstanding performance:
• Productive Skills: Plaques and medals for top performers in the Writing Challenge and Persuasive Speaking Challenge.
• Receptive Skills: Plaques and medals for top performers in the Knowledge Quiz and Spelling Bee.
• Overall Achievement: Trophies for the highest-achieving students in each age category.

School Awards:
• School Plaque of Honour: Awarded to every participating school.
• Top 3 Schools Trophy: Awarded to the top three schools based on the combined points earned by each school's ten highest-scoring competitors.

Best Spirit Award
• This award recognises a student who demonstrates a positive attitude, supports the event and its staff, encourages inclusivity, and represents the TeenEagle spirit.
