MYAA 2024 Semi-Final Submission Rules & Guidelines

Task 1: Trailer Video
• Create a trailer video for the story you submitted during the preliminary round. Be as creative as you like!
• The video should be between 30 to 75 seconds long.
• A book trailer is like a movie trailer but for a book! It’s a short video that introduces your story to the audience in an exciting way. The goal is to give a glimpse of what your story is about without giving away too much. Think of it as a way to make people curious about your story and want to read it! You can include (but not limited to) images, text, background music, your voice, or even act out a scene from your story. The idea is to capture the main elements of your plot, characters, and the mood of your story in a creative way.

Task 2: Blurb
• Write a blurb for the story you submitted during the preliminary round.
• The blurb should be under 200 words.
• A blurb is a brief description of your story that you usually find on the back cover of a book or online. It’s meant to grab the reader’s attention and make them want to read your book. A good blurb gives a sneak peek into the main idea of the story without revealing all the details. It usually talks about the main character, the conflict or problem they face, and why it’s interesting, but it leaves the reader curious to know more.
